Our Process

From Emergency Call to Full Restoration

Every RapidDry Restoration job follows the same five steps: call, inspect, remove, dry and rebuild. You know what happens next at every stage, and your insurer gets the documentation it needs at each one.

Step 1 of 5

Call

Call the emergency line any hour. A dispatcher takes your address and what happened, gives you immediate safety steps (shut the main valve, stay away from outlets near water) and sends the nearest crew. Our target is to be on site within 60 minutes anywhere in the GTA.

Step 2 of 5

Inspect

The lead technician finds the source, classifies the water (clean, grey or black) and maps how far moisture has travelled using pin and non-invasive moisture meters and thermal imaging. Everything is photographed and logged, because that documentation is what your insurer uses to approve the claim.

Step 3 of 5

Remove

Truck-mounted and portable extractors pull standing water out. Materials that cannot be dried safely, such as soaked drywall, wet insulation, delaminated laminate flooring and contaminated carpet, are cut out, bagged and removed. Salvageable contents are moved and protected.

Step 4 of 5

Dry

Air movers and commercial dehumidifiers are set following the IICRC S500 standard. We take moisture readings every day and adjust the equipment until the structure is back to its dry standard, usually within 3 to 5 days. You get the drying log for your claim file.

Step 5 of 5

Rebuild

Once the structure is dry, our sister company Rebuild Pro Contracting handles the rebuild: insulation, drywall, taping, paint, trim and flooring, billed to the same claim. If water came through the foundation, DryFort Waterproofing fixes the cause so it does not happen again.

Process questions

What homeowners ask about the process

How long does the whole process take?

Emergency extraction happens the same day. Tear-out is usually complete within 24 to 48 hours. Structural drying takes 3 to 5 days for most homes, longer for hardwood, concrete or heavily saturated assemblies. The rebuild through Rebuild Pro Contracting is scheduled once the drying log shows the structure is at its dry standard, typically starting within a week or two depending on scope and insurer approval.

Do I need to be home during drying?

No. Equipment runs unattended and we return daily to take moisture readings and adjust it. We need access for those visits, which takes about 20 minutes. Please leave the equipment running; turning it off overnight to save power extends the drying time and can allow mould to start.

Who does the rebuild?

Our sister company Rebuild Pro Contracting handles insulation, drywall, taping, paint, trim and flooring. Because the same group handled the tear-out, the rebuild scope matches the claim exactly and there is one point of contact from first call to final coat.

What if the water came through the foundation?

We dry the interior, and DryFort Waterproofing assesses the foundation for the permanent fix: crack injection, weeping tile, sump pump or exterior waterproofing. Fixing the root cause is often required by insurers before they will cover a repeat loss.
